great Balls of fire!

my fren n i overhead our eee uncle sayin tat life is stress these daes....

then my fren told me tat usually "shang le nian ji de ren" cannot really take stress as compared to us young pple... told me its a combi of both physical and mental... young ppl more resistive to stress... dunnoe how true ah... mayb when you leave uni, the stress tat you feel now and the stress from the outside world could b much different... stress from findin ways to make ends meet each dae and compared to exams stress could b very different...

sometimes i feel humans can b like a ball... u'll nv know how high you may bounce unless you give urself a try. sometimes when u push urself harder... the ball will bounce higher... faster... mayb even higher than u ever think you are capable of... however when you push it too hard... it will bounce right back at your face... out of control...

a basketball is meant for a game of basketball... u can't play golf with a basketball.. the hole just doesnt fit... somehow tis sound crap... but then i find it true in life... if ur not meant to b something... no matter how hard u try... u'll not reach your fullest potential in the field. but as i said... u'll not know unless u give yourself a try and see if u will bounce...

to bounce high you would have to know yourself very well... know wat you like... wat you enjoy most... wat makes you happy ... to feel in flow all the time... wat excites you when ur doin tat particular task...

know wat ball you are and be that ball in the right game and tat game will be best tat you'll ever play...

2 + 3 = 23... the figures just doesn't seem to add up

yet another saturdae nite bachelors gathering...

this time BoWo's back from the states... it was 5-6 yrs back when he left JC and pursued his studies over at states... no news of him except some emails exchanges with HK... now hes back and holdin a masters degree in mech eng... besides bowo... our newest member to the bachelors gang is SL... yeah "ah sir-to-be" just booked out from camp... judgin from the way he walked we knew he just had a road march... hahaha we were rite... 16k... hahaha... long gone were the daes when most of us we clad in green... now's SL turn...

SL's one of our smartest guy from my sec sch gang... definitely true... just by grazin at the number of white hairs he has then... being a psc scholar... he re-enlisted after he graduated with a 1st class master from Uk... a few mths back... yeah time to go ur hse for regular bbq liaoz...

now i understand how gals felt when guys just blah non-stop of army life... tats just wat sl did... yeah the wing sm lah... the trench lah... platoon wah lah did this lah... no discipline lah.... ops orders lah... kena here kena there... okok... long gone were the daes leh... din really strike our interest ya... but by lookin at ur enthusiasm... okok... "yin chou ni" a bit la... at least u look more fresh lah... shorter hair... definitely look much younger than us ya... like jc kid now leh... at least u have no late nites of msn'ing or studyin as compared to us hor... can sleep early, wake up early... every mornin to go for long run some more... see greeny stuff everydae... healthy lifestyle i must say... heehee... cheers bro... time will fly ya... i'll definitely try to b the first to shake up hand on ur commissioning... dun forget i want big angbao leh...anyway u still have ur pinky ic... wait til u get ur green 11b... then will u "experience" the true army life ya... ;P

over our food n drinks... i commented tat both sl and bowo at 23 had already bagged with them a master degree and lots more experience of the outside world as compared to us... sl will definitely b a high flier with the big bucks rollin in... while we guys will be a still b at a few dB away... just too much analogue electronics in me nowadaes... and in a few yrs later we may just be a BENG... yesh errr... Bachelor of Eng... a fresh grad while both of them mayb already workin for good period liaoz... we will b 25 then? we will b at the 1/3 point of our lives... and gettin a BENG at 25 doesnt sound as great as it can be...

sometimes i really like to wonder wat i'll do if i dun have to study... wat would i really want to do if money, havin a degree, a bright future, livin to others expectations were not concerns in life. if all else were taken care of... wat will i b doin? mayb i'll join a rock band n play the electric guitar or be the most electricifyin drummer ever... roam the world with a camera in hand and take pictures of all beautiful things i have my eyes on... sat foot at the olympic arena and have all eyes on me while takin aim at the bullseye 70m away... set up a theme restaurant with the guys as we've alwaes been sayin...

one of the sg sports psychologist who taught me in an elective class once said tat he loved wat he was doin in his work to an extreme tat he just can't wait for the next dae to arrive... the thought of goin to work the nx dae just excites him... somehow i thought he was yaya-in to us abt his work initially... but thu the way he conducts his lesson n the way he expresses himself... i could see he was enjoyin the every moment of it... guess tats wat every1 wants to experience in life bah... for now i guess theres just no excitment just by thinkin of havin lectures the nx dae... wats more the exams are drawin near hahha.... ( tats "ku xiao".... :( )

theres just no denial tat we'r reachin 1/3 of life... the rest of the 2/3 is still for us to choose... i feel tat after we grad theres just no turnin back... best to experience as much now while we still have the chance....

the choice to b happy is nv wrong...

Help! The House's on Fire!!!

So imagine your house is burnin with fire... all living things are dead... ok... mayb ur dog or kitten is still whining and alive... however all physical items are still intact... wats the 3 things that you'll take with you and escape from the burin house?

this question came from my choice theory elective class... actually this is the second time i've heard this question and this time round, the items that i wanted to take were different from the first time i answered tis... it was only 9 mths apart and my answer had change... i was quite surprised...

for all sorts of psyco test... the first thought is usually the most accurate and most true to yourself... 9 mths ago the 3 items were...

1) Bank book ($$$ lah... no money no talk...)
2) Certs, awards (i biah so hard for them... just can't let them turn into ashes...)
3) could only think of 2 items then...

actually this test is to identify your needs and wants. all humans and driven by 5 basic needs and we behave accordingly to sastify these needs. the 5 basic needs, love n belonging, power, survival, freedom, fun.

1) Bank book = initially i thought money was for survival... thu the doc's analysis it could actually mean the need for power...
2) Certs = definitely is power... the sense of achievement

so actually at tat time i was kinda power craving person... muahahaha...

9 mths passed and tis time, i could only think of 1 item... my photo albums... yup memories... couldnt really cared if everything got burnt tis time... haha... photo albums meant the need for love n belonging... to stay connected to people... this change of need showed tat pple at different periods of life require different needs and thus could behave differently...

according to the doc, most ppl would have love n belongin and power as their main needs in life... which was really true... as most ppl in class gave examples for handphones... wallets... photos... laptops... however.. the doc then said love n belongin need is the greatest need of all... cos no matter how much power u have... love n belongin need is the only thing tat can make one really happy in life...
