Dengue, Katrina, Rita, Longwang, Bali Bomb Blast, Volcano Eruptions, Parkistan Earthquake?

Channel News Asia seems like an "evil" tv channel. Every weekend when i am back at the comfort of home, CNA brings to me are reports of new disasters happening at another part of the world.

Last week were news on the aftermath of hurricanes, typhoons and the shocking Bali Bomb Blast. This week was the massive earthquarke in Parkistan killing thousands of lives.

Another bad news this week was that my elder brother was diagnosed with dengue fever and just got warded.

When was the last time u cried?

I wondered when I was having an msn conversation with kc.

kc was actually talking about the local movie “Be With Me” after seeing my msn picture the other day and related that he was very touched by the show and cried while watching it.

I took a pause before saying that I could not remember the last time I cried over a movie scene or maybe it was too long ago that I could recall.

But I guess there were definitely times when I felt at the verge of tears but never to the point of shedding tears.

Crying in the heart? Crying deep down inside while trying to put up a brave front to let the whole world know that its ok, not letting anyone worry.

Maybe.

“That is why men (guys) are pathetic!” kc commented.

Even crying, which is such a natural thing; we guys have to prevent it from happening. To hide it and act ga-rang to pretend.

To cry is a taboo for guys?

Maybe crying personifies being weak. Maybe guys always have this image to maintain, trying to be strong, never to whine and complain?

男儿流血，不流泪?

Then more guys should donate their blood whenever they feel like crying…


What movies make guys cry? Saving Private Ryan’s Privates?

Peel onions while watching Star Wars?

Maybe one should build up their emotional experiences before watching any arty farty shows next time. Guess it is at those scenes that you can relate most to your own personal experience that you are able to be emotional and resonate with tears?

Hmmm… maybe after all, kc was just trying to say I’m the one who is pathetic.
