wats wrong with being number 2?
watched tis video "Tuesdays with Morrie" durin my GE class last wk... its a true life story of tis successful sports journalist Mitch (forgot the surname) who started to visit his favourite college prof Morrie when Mitch heard Morrie was goin to die from a disease, 16 yrs after he graduated... thu his visits with morrie, he started to learn the meanin of life from his dieing prof...
"wats wrong with being number 2?" came morrie.... it was a phrase i caught durin the video which brought alot of thoughts... who in the world wants be number 2? i really wonder...
in our everydae life... we alwaes want to be Num-Bo 1... like boarding the MRT, quenuin for food, studyin for exams... every1 wants to be the first, be the best.. nobody would settle for number 2... number 1 seems the most enticing... even hawkers would say "No. 1 Laska in Sg!" who would put "No. 2 Laska in Sg... 2nd Best leh" on their sign boards...
so wats wrong with being number 2? actually no prob bah... its just how u and others perceive... if u gave in all ur effort ur definitely the best... no matter u are no 2 or no 3 in any event... wat matter most is the journey and the experience u gained durin the course of events... sometimes pple are just too engrossed with being No 1... that they have no time for themselves and for their loved ones... sometimes relationships are also destroyed in the process.... so wat if ur No 1 when nobody is ard to share it with? hmmm somehow the phrase "Wu Di Shi Ji Mo de" fits in perfectly here.... haha crap
ya i definitely recommend pple to watch the clip or read the book (i tink there is)... gives some other interestin thoughts to life in various aspects... so no matter wat u are strivin for in this period of time in ur life... hopefully u can learn to enjoy this journey and oso care for those pple who care abt u...
