A Joke?

Why Does Doraemon live in Darkness?

Life is so much like a joke.

A follow-up on the previous entry on my brother been diagnosed of having of Dengue.

Actually my brother had been wrongly diagnosed and just happened to be a rare case of Hand Foot Mouth Diease.

What a big joke it turn out to be. All thanks to the doctor whom my brother went to seek help. A joke so big that made the entire family, relatives and friends all worry dearly about his condition for the duration he got hospitalised.

I hereby wanna loudly say,

"Mr Doc. Thanks Hor!"

Thanks for your "good" diagnosis!

I wonder if its a case of poor judgement or a case of poor medical knowledge, i seriously hope its not the latter.

Come to think of it, after studying engineering for 4 years, will be able to apply what we learn? Will we really be a engineer of use and of value?

It is so often heard that what you learn in school is totally different with what is done in the real world, how we can throw our formulaes and theories that we feverish remembered and use for our exam calculations all turn out to be useless in the real world. Our "Pass our Examinations with Flying Colour" Tricks will all be declared useless once we step out to the working world.

Maybe, we study for the sake of studying?

For the paper chase? For our parents? For framing up the holy B.ENG cert and as an unique wall decoration sake? Please lah, so many people with B.ENG cert anywhere and anyhow?

Maybe many years down the road, when i look back on this entry and i will eventualise the answers. Maybe i will laugh, or cry at the state i'll be then. Maybe blogs will not even exist then.

How often to hear that engineering grads hate to be engineers. Ask around your friends in the engieering faculties what they want to do after graduation. The answers would most probably be not link to any engineering positions.

"Err, dun no..."

"Aiyah, set up business loh, make money loh"

"Human Mangement loh, get married and manage 'kids'!"

"Be Tai Tai loh, eh mahjong session anyone?"

"Simi? i want go piah Tutorial lah, exams lai liaoz!"

The irony sets in, many people after study engineering turn out to not be engineers. That is why there is always a need for engineers.

Maybe.

It could be the league of friends that i have that i derived the above responses of engineering grads. Maybe in some other place out there, there are people dieing to be engineers to solve problems, create new solutions and safe the the world!

Somehow, i guess eventually most of my friends and including myself will become engineers. Due to the lack of options and when financial emptiness sets into the picture. Hopefully this will not be a joke and may all be successful and of value.

And here is the answer to the above lame joke:

Ans: Because Doraemon 伸手不见五指!
